We are an Independent Physician Association, based in New York City since 2002, with a membership of 290 physicians of diverse specialities in the boroughs of Queens, Manhattan, Bronx, Brooklyn, and Staten Island, and the counties of Nassau, Suffolk and Westchester.
We negotiate group contracts with Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs) on behalf of all our members. These contracts have better reimbursement rates and participation in Surplus Sharing and Quality Improvement bonuses not available to individual physician contracts. We also serve as their liaison with the HMOs, easing and speeding resolution of issues.
Since its inception Excelsior Medical IPA, PLLC (EMIPA) has committed itself to providing contractual negotiations, credentialing services, quality of care improvement and increased reimbursement to medical providers, while at the same time preserving traditional practice autonomy.
EMIPA helps its members navigate the complex business side of healthcare. We focus our efforts on helping our members grow their patient rosters, improve the health of their patients and increase the reimbursement for their work.
